Call for Candidates to Busitema University Compassionate Scholarship Scheme

Education is the cornerstone of any Country and a prerequisite for Economic, Social and Political Development of a Nation. It improves the productive capacity of society and enhances their Political, Economic and Scientific Institutions towards a Sustainable Development.

Realizing that the cost of education is highly unattainable for some families in the Ugandan Society and in their bid to contribute to reducing socioeconomic inequality, Busitema University considers to support disadvantaged but bright students to pursue formal education.

Busitema University is therefore calling upon all eligible candidates to her Compassionate Scholarship scheme for 2024/2025 academic year.

Eligibility:

1. All applicants should have been admitted on private scheme to any Bachelor or Diploma Programme offered at Busitema University.
2. All the applicants must be from economically disadvantaged and primarily from rural and peri-urban area within the target districts of the Eastern Region where Busitema University campuses are located (Busia, Tororo, Mbale, Pallisa, Soroti, Kamuli, and Butebo).
3. Applicants should not have been previously admitted on Government or holders of any other form of scholarships.
4. Must have studied and sat for UACE in the last five years.
5. The applicant must have sat for UACE in any of the schools in the districts indicated above
6. This scheme shall consider only those students admitted in 2024/2025 Academic year.
7. Only direct entrants from (A ‘Level) will be considered
8. This support will consider candidates on Science (STEM) programmes in the University.

Application Process:

1. Download the Compassionate Application Scholarship Scheme form for Busitema University from https://busitema.ac.ug/academics/downloads
2. Print the form and fill required details
3. Scan your O-Level, A-Level, your School/National Identity card and the filled Compassionate Form into one combined pdf file
4. Submit your application as attachments to: compassionate@busitema.ac.ug
5. Make sure your name and registration number appears on the subject of your email.

1. Deadline for application is: Friday, 31 stJanuary, 2025
2. All application forms shall be received via the given email address.
